About Me

I received my PhD in clinical psychology in 1997, and have worked with a wide range of clients in settings from hospitals to clinics. For a number of years I coordinated a day treatment program for substance abusers where I ran therapy groups and worked individually with patients. Always involved with the training and supervision of junior staff and doctoral students, I moved on to become Site Director of Psychology at North Central Bronx Hospital, and later joined the faculty of Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology where I was the director of the school’s externship and internship training programs.

In addition to my work experience I’ve completed training programs in both clinical hypnosis (at the New York Society for Ericksonian Psychotherapy and Hypnosis), and group psychotherapy (at the Eastern Group Psychotherapy Association).

Teaching has always been an important part of my career and I’ve taught courses in both the psychology of substance abuse and abnormal psychology to graduate art therapy students at the School of Visual Arts. In addition, I’ve run workshops and experiential groups for students, professionals and the general public.

Before going on to graduate school I worked as a commercial photographer. Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager and it still is.

I’ve had a private practice since 2000.
